The 2023 CLCSC Awards Ceremony - Early Bird Registration Available Now

The Children’s Literature Council of Southern California has a long history of hosting an annual event when the leaves fall (or sometimes don’t) and things start being flavored with pumpkin spice. This tradition has allowed us to celebrate the best of literature for young people created by authors and illustrators in Southern California. In previous years, we have hosted keynote speakers which recently included Dr. Claudette McLinn & Michael McLinn, Oge Mora, Deborah Heiligman, and Javaka Steptoe.

This year we chose to do things a little differently. With the return to in-person events, we are inviting past CLCSC award winners from our virtual award ceremony years (2020 and 2021). So please bring all your applause-skills to this super-sized awards event celebrating our 2023 winners and recognizing our past award winners in-person!

We’re still keeping our main staples: our breakfast buffet, on-site bookseller (Once Upon a Time), award winner signings, and connecting with our community book lovers. This year will be introducing a silent auction with plenty of literary goodies and local activities up for grabs!

Please join us in what continues to be an inspiring morning with both creators and advocates of literature for young people. Pick out that perfect outfit and set that Saturday morning alarm for:

Saturday, October 21, 2023
